Teacher's Feedback

After recieving my feedback from my teacher's it seems there's a lot of work still to be done. I've been advised to try and get hold of some other model's that perhaps look slightly older, as currently my models look a little bit to young for my magazine. I've been given some ideas about who I could use, and I think i'll use the people suggested. This might mean i'll have to slightly change the image of my band, however they can still have the same personality's and music genre that my previous models had. 


A worry of mine is how I'm going to get them to dress, as it may be a bit of a challenge, I will also need to possibly find a third model. I may use one of my previous models, Miles, however he may look even younger when stood next to my new models so that may be a bad idea.


I need to improve my front cover drastically, as at the minute it's not good enough and like I had feared needs improving. Before I can start to improve it I will need to retake my pictures as i'll need to work my front cover around the picture.


My contents needs a bit of improving, this shouldn't be too tricky, at the minute, I think i'll keep the picture in the same place, so it'll be a question of photoshopping that in. I may change my columns about and try to fill the page a bit more and make it more interesting and to fill it up.


My double page spread will stay virtually the same, it'll just be a change of pictures and I may have to get rid of some of the article as at the minute it's proving a lot to fit in and it's having to be put in a small font, which could be an issue for some readers. 


I feel that once all of my changes have been made my magazine will be better for it, it might just prove a challenge to get models that have the look I want, and especially to find 3 of them at a similar age.

Double Page Spread

My double page is my favourite out of my 3 pages. I feel it looks professional and I like most aspects out of it. I'm slightly concerned as to whether I should of had my models with their hoods up but with the feedback i've received people seem to like it so it should be ok.

Contents

I'm happy with my contents page. I believe it looks fairly professional, however I do feel that it could possibly have a bit more information on it especially in places such as 'Reviews' as that looks a bit scarce. 

Front Cover

I was overall slightly disappointed with my first draft of my front cover. I feel it doesn't look as professional as i'd like it too. I think i need a few little changes such as the background colour and my photoshop skills need to improve on changing the colour of people's clothing. I was also a bit unsure on placement on the band names so I put them either side above the picture. This is something i'm still unsure about. Other than that I I feel that it looks decent and it looks like a music magazine. 

Band Name

It's taken me forever to finally come up with a band name. I started again in my attempts of getting a band name last week, and started by going through old editions of music magazines, to look for one word names. I then decided I wanted to have my band as 'The' someone. I looked at music artist names for inspiration but didn't find anything. I then decided to look at album names and finally found a name I liked. Foals' first album was named 'antidotes', I decided I liked this name, as it could give the idea to the reader that this band are what's going to stop all of the over hyped music taking the scene, and these are going to be what freshens up the indie scene in the music industry.
